Enjoy Irises in Bloom Through The Month of May

 

SCHREINER’S DISPLAY GARDENS – THROUGHOUT MAY – Make a tour of Schreiner’s one of your springtime traditions! Soak up warm spring sunshine as you stroll through 10 acres of gardens. Bring the family for a picnic lunch (table available). Marvel at over 500 colorful iris varieties and take home fresh cut blooms or order rhizomes for your friends and yourself. Enjoy the cut flower show and Memorial Day Weekend entertainment. During bloom season, the display gardens are open free of charge from dawn to dusk, and the gift shop is open 9:00 am – 6:00 pm daily.

IRIS & THE ARTIST SHOW – THROUGHOUT MAY – Irises are so unique with full blooms and captivating colors that artists find marvelous ways to capture them on canvas. Throughout the month of May, come view samples of these masterpieces at the Iris Art Show held in the Enid Joy Mount Gallery at the Keizer Heritage Center.

 

Keizer Art Association is proud to present the Iris Festival Poster Contest in conjunction with their May, 2013 ” Celebration of Flowers” Gallery Show.  Attached is a picture of the “Grateful Red” iris from Schreiner’s Gardens.  We hope to have a lot of entries in this contest.  The entry fee is only $5.00 for one entry or $10.00 for two.  The Chamber Foundation is offering a $200.00 award to the winner whose entry will be the 2014 poster and pin picture.  Schreiner’s Gardens also will select a flower picture for a $50.00 award.  The picture of “Grateful Red”, prospectus, and entry blank are available on our website as well as the Gallery.  Plan to participate in this Art Association event.

As an artist you can submit artwork to enter the 2013 Iris Festival Fine Art Poster Contest. The selected theme “Pride, Spirit and Volunteerism” and theme iris is Montmartre. Your ideas and creativity while engaging the theme, the community, and the festival are encouraged to be incorporated in the artwork. A $200 cash prize will be awarded for the selected piece.

AG SHOWCASE, RECREATION ARENA & IRIS FLOWER SHOW – MAY 16-18

Farm equipment used throughout the Willamette Valley will be showcased at the Keizer Station Fun. Come watch various demonstrations  and view and recreation toys at the Recreation Arena. Beautiful neighborhood blooms, arrangements, and of course irises are on display. Hop on board the Trolley or Wagon Ride to Schriener’s Iris Display Garden to veiw an Iris Flower Show and walk the display gardens.
